What is Biogas?

Biogas is a renewable energy source produced by the anaerobic decomposition of organic materials, primarily composed of methane (CH₄) and carbon dioxide (CO₂).

Want to Know More

Biogas is generated when microorganisms break down organic matter such as food waste, agricultural residues, or manure in the absence of oxygen. It can be captured and used as a fuel for heating, electricity generation, or as a vehicle fuel. The process also produces a nutrient-rich byproduct called digestate, which can be used as fertilizer. Biogas systems help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, divert organic waste from landfills, and support circular economy practices.
